Our mission

Entomation is a for-profit social enterprise, developing a system to optimize the production of cricket powder, reduce emissions, enhance nutritional value, and fully automate the process. This will bring down the production costs and make cricket powder more accessible. Furthermore, the system enables us to contribute towards food security and address the related challenges we have yet to face.

Progress

We have a passion for addressing food security by producing sustainable insect protein, utilizing circular economy. After conceptualizing Entomation in november 2017, we have secured strategic partnerships and obtained all the necessary expertise. Currently, we are testing our third prototype by using Design‑driven Innovation and Integrative Technology principals.

We have gained hands-on experience in cricket farming. Our incredible founding team that includes an Automation Engineer, an Entomologist, and an Industrial Designer is fully determined to develop the most resource efficient cricket powder production system.

Our current focus is on acquiring funding and finding a location to set up our farm. We also have strong ties to consumers, organizations, and advocates. We work together with Space 10, a future-living lab located in Copenhagen. We have participated in a sprint week as part of Stardust at the Danish Technical University.

Our business model

B2B model – Entomation supplies cricket powder to insect-based food producers.

Entomation focuses on consistent, premium quality products at a competitive price, produced using an automated, modular, and standardized methodology by harnessing the potential of a circular economy. Resource efficiency has always been the focal point of Entomation’s approach.
