Our mission

Entomation is developing a resource-efficient and scalable method for cricket farming and processing for human consumption. This system enables us to contribute to food security. We strive to make a product that is the first choice for Insect-Based Food Producers (IBFPs), not an alternative.

Consumer trends are shifting to a preference for locally produced, nutritious, and organic products. We aim to raise crickets in the vicinity of the demand. With the utilization of local waste and byproducts, we can further improve the sustainability and circularity of our final product, getting close to zero-waste production. Sustainability is at the forefront of every facet of our activities while creating a delicious and versatile product.

Ultimately, we are working on ensuring that the food of the future is healthy, delicious, and plentiful.

Our mission

Entomation is a for-profit social enterprise, developing a system to optimize the production of cricket powder, reduce emissions, enhance nutritional value, and fully automate the process. This will bring down the production costs and make cricket powder more accessible. Furthermore, the system enables us to contribute towards food security and address the related challenges we have yet to face.

Progress

We have a passion for addressing food security by producing sustainable insect protein, utilizing a circular economy. Since conceptualizing Entomation in November 2017, we have built our incredible team, which includes the two co-founders, an Automation Engineer, and an Architect. Together, we are fully determined to develop the most resource-efficient cricket powder production system.

We have forged a strategic partnership with Bella Center, where our pilot farm was established. This setup has been ideal to gain extensive hands-on experience in cricket farming and circular economy. Currently, we are testing our processes and prototype by using Design‑driven Innovation and Integrative Technology principles.

Our current focus is on Proof of Concept and acquiring funding to finish the development of our pilot farm so that we can deploy additional ones.

We have strong ties to consumers, backed by LOIs, strategic partners, industry professionals, and advocates.

Our business model

B2B model – Entomation supplies cricket powder to insect-based food producers.

Entomation focuses on consistent, premium quality products at a competitive price, produced using an automated, modular, and standardized methodology by harnessing the potential of a circular economy. Resource efficiency has always been the focal point of Entomation’s approach.
